Overrides

Overrides

Students who do not meet the requirements for a course may request an ‘override’ which will allow them to register for the course. Every department has a different procedure for requesting overrides into courses; in Psychology you must contact the course instructor directly to request an override. The most efficient way to request an override is by email. Be sure to use your Brock email account when making these requests to the instructor and include the reason for your request, your full name, and your student number. You can speed up the process by copying Kirsti van Dorsser (kvandorsser@brocku.ca) on your request to the instructor of the course, since she will be responsible for processing the paperwork for an override. This way the instructor can simply ‘reply all’ and if your request is approved, Kirsti will know to process the override right away.

Overrides are not intended to give students access to courses that are full; once a course is full we cannot  override you into it.

Please note that overrides are not possible for students who do not meet the average requirements for PSYC 3F40 and 3P39, please contact your academic advisor to discuss your options.
