Overrides

Overrides
Students who do not meet the requirements for a course may request an ‘override’ which will allow them to register for the course. Every department has a different procedure for requesting overrides into courses; in Psychology you must contact the course instructor directly to request an override.

The most efficient way to request an override is by email. Be sure to use your Brock email account when making these requests to the instructor and include the reason for your request, your full name, and your student number. You can speed up the process by copying Kirsti van Dorsser ([email protected]) on your email to the instructor.  This way the instructor can simply ‘reply all’ and if your request is approved, Kirsti will know to process the override right away. Please note that Kirsti needs to see an email verifying that you have permission to register in a course, she cannot take your word for it.

Overrides are not intended to give students access to courses that are full; once a course is full we cannot  override you into it.

Please note that overrides are not possible for students who do not meet the average requirements for PSYC 3F40 and 3P39, please contact your academic advisor to discuss your options.
